Short blog post this week, mainly to reveal something gorgeous.
While I am traversing the traditional publishing route with my novels, I've decided to self-publish a small collection of my short stories. I figure, why let them languish in a drawer or in a folder on my laptop when I can get them out there for readers to hopefully enjoy?
But it's not just a case of uploading a word document to Amazon and hoping for the best. It's trickier than you think, there's editing, proofing, formatting, marketing, promoting, making sure it looks good.
One of the most effective tools you can have, in a scrolling screen-sea of e-books, is a great cover. It's the first thing potential readers see, it's what potentially draws them as far as reading the blurb and so on.
Being that I am no designer, I decided to call in the professionals. And I am so glad I did. Amber at Romance Book Marketing chatted with me about what I wanted (and of course I was about as vague as a words person can be when talking about their book cover).
Somehow, she wrangled my ideas and designed the most beautiful and fitting cover for my collection, Chrysalis, which is a trio of crossover/YA stories, all with a 'coming-of-age' feel or theme of 'emergence'.
To say I am thrilled with the result is an understatement.
So here it is ... my very first cover reveal...
How abso-freaking-lutely gorgeous is it ?!?!
Thank you Amber, what an incredible job.
This e-book collection is available through Amazon, the link to buy is on my website homepage.
I sincerely hope you enjoy it and thank you so much for your interest in my work.
